Yesterday (August 28th, 2008), the current highest building in Mainland China, Shanghai World Financial Center open to public.
Introduction of Shanghai World Financial Center
Shanghai World Financial Center is located in Shanghai, China. There are 101 floors and up to 492 meters high.
In the building, there is a highest swimming pool in the world, a highest restaurant and a highest tourism sightseeing room. Overlooking from the 100th floor (tourism sightseeding room), we can see Huangpu River clearly, and so are the other scenes.
The elevators in the building work very quick, about 10 meters per second, it only takes you one minute from the bottom to the top.
The disaster prevention is very good too, this building will withstand earthquake with 8 or 9 Richter Scale.
Expensive and luxury
The Baiyue Hotel located on the 79th to 93th floor is the highest hotel in the world and every room will cost you about (or more than) 5,000 yuan every night. There are two chairman rooms in the hotel and every room will cost you 88,000 every night, and plus extra 15% service fee.
The rent fee is high in the building ,about 650 yuan per square meter for one month, untill now, many foreign banks have assigned offices in this building, such as Sumitomo Mitsui Bank from Japan, the German Commercial Bank, the Philippines METRO Bank and so on.
