According to the latest news, a major earthquake measuring 7.8 Richter Scale jolted Wenchuan County of Southwest China's Sichuan province at 2:28 p.m. on Monday.
The State Seismological Bureau said the epicenter of the quake was located 31.0 degrees north latitude and 103.4 degrees east longitude, it's WenChuan, 146 kilometers northwest of Chengdu.

The earthquake was very terrible, till now (about 18 hours after the earthquake), the death raises to nearly 10,000 and the number is still in increasing. Our premier Wen Jiabao has arrived at Dujiangyan, a city northwest of the provincial capital Chengdu. Wen said My fellow Chinese, facing such a severe disaster, we need calm, confidence, courage and efficient organization.
The earthquake was so terrible that a big number of people injured, and the earthquake almost destroyed everything in the epicenter.
